Yep I actually went to a movie today, I went and saw Hostel. I knew it was suppose to be a horror flick but I guess I just wasn't expecting that much gruesomeness, but go figure it's a Torentino film.
It's not the most gruesome movie I had seen but jeez it was pretty gory. Also I wasn't expecting to see as many tits, cause yeah horror movies you usually see maybe two or three but I swear there were at least 10 people's tits you saw in this movie. It was like TITs R Us at the begining of the movie. That went away and we go to the actual horror.
I'm not a movie critic and I don't write reviews on movies either, cause frankly I suck at it. Anyhow this movie wasn't the best horror but it wasn't the worst. It wasn't cheesy but there needed to be some hidden reason to the manslaughter in this that somehow connected back to the main characters and I just didn't get the connection between the reasoning for the manslaughter and what the main characters really had to do with it. Maybe I'm just dumb or something.
I did laugh a lot during this movie though, which maybe wasn't the purpose since everyone else is the theater neither laughed let alone gasped. I guess manslaughter and mayhem just causes to me laugh, especially when a guy purposely drives right into people and then drives right over them. Also when a guy cuts a girls eye out because she is freaking out about her eye no longer being in the socket. Or when someone gets knocked down and starts sawing their own leg and then gets shot in the head. That's just pure laughterfilled moments for me.
Now you all probably think I'm sick in the head, but this is a movie remember if people do remember that. Movies are suppose to take you away from reality and put you in a new world to entertain you. Everyone takes things too seriously these days and nit picks at everything. People need to get over it.
I enjoyed the movie, I probably enjoyed it even more since I didn't have to pay for it cause I had a free pass, and that's all that really mattered. Now if you aren't a horror movie fan or you don't like gore don't see this movie. Cause they do show some very graphic things like cutting off peoples fingers with a scapul, putting holes in a person with a power drill, and cutting people's arms and wrists.
Anyhow during the previews I saw some good previews that got me interested in them. One was for Hard Candy, it was more of a thriller film I think. It's about this older guy meeting up with this younger girl from online and then from their I don't exactly know where it goes, but it looks interesting and sort of topical in today's socitey. I also so the See No Evil, the movie with the wrestler Kane in it. They were singing childrens songs in the background and you know when they do that, that means it's going to be a good one, hahaha. Then the preview for that movie A Stranger Calls or something like that came on I was like I saw this ad on TV not long ago. It seems interesting but it looks like you are only seeing that girl the whole movie and since I don't think I've seen that actress of heard of it, I think it would be hard to watch a 2 hour movie with her in it.
Anyhow if I do see another movie in the near future it will probably be Last Holiday. Comedys are always good and Queen Latifah is hysterical, I remembering going to see Taxi and I just thought she was a riot.
