I haven't posted in a while, which seems to be the theme a lot in most of my posts in this blog. It suprises me in the recent weeks I haven't wanted to post or say anything, considering recent events.
The whole Benoit family trajedy stunned me and sickened me when the details of what went down came out. Shock, disbelief and disugst have run through my body for the past weeks because it. The night when it came out the family was found dead first I was stunned and very sad. Then little details came trickling out and I slowly and slowly got worried and then became deathly ill. Shoot I almost thought I was going to throw up.
See if you had met Benoit you would know that he was a man all about respect. I had the pleasure to meet him during Wrestlemania 2000 Weekend, along with Nancy Benoit. He was a very nice and respectful man and Nancy was nice and also very respectful. When I go to wrestling events or signings and etc I always am respectful unlike most who go like smother the wrestlers I tend to sit back and wait my turn. If I see them in public I don't bother them, and if I do go up to them I ask their permission and I never go up to them while they are eating, only after they are done if at all. Anyhow since Nancy was their, as a family member and not a performer I decided to not go up to her and bother her because she was their like the rest of the wrestlers wives/signifcant others and all. But I did smile to her and she smiled back and she just stood and watched as the fans admired her husband. A vast majority of the people at this meet and greet probably didn't even know who she was. I only saw like two or three guys go up to her and speak to her that were fans. Anyhow if you showed respect to him he gave you respect back. Just like most wrestlers will do.
Anyhow he has lost all the respect he got from me as a human being. If somehow they find out the events didn't occur like they said then I apologize, but it doesn't look as if that will happen. This man demanded respect ever so quietly yet he took two inocent people's lives. The thing that gets me the most is that he took the life of a child he adored. It makes no sense and probably never will. The one thing that might give us answers is the diary that so many have spoken about that Benoit had where he'd write letters to Eddie Guerrero, if they find that diary they might get some clues as to what was going on in Chris' mind.
But in all honesty we will never know what caused him to do what he did. We will always have specualation and even if Toxicology test comes back and say steriods or other drugs were in his system that doesn't mean they caused him to do those actions. People make choices and they must live with those choices. Steriods I'm not to sure can cause you to kill. They can cause you to get made, but to kill I find that highly unlikely. I mean there are other drugs such as LSD and meth that can cause you to kill. I remember a story from a police officer who talked about this guy they found in the Independence Center parking lot completely naked and blood all over him looking up at the parking lot light and apologizing. He was so messed up on drugs he didn't even realize he was naked and was bleeding so badly.
Anyhow I wish I could go back in time and would have actually gone up to Nancy and said something, because I found her to be a very good manager/valet who didn't get as much credit as many other females in the business. I also wish could go back and hit Chris Benoit in the head and said you could have had a V8 or something else along thos lines. Although none of those things probably would have changed anything, but it sure would have made me feel better.
So for all those friends who know I like wrestling but you yourself don't those are my thoughts about that. P.S. When any of those NEWs channels report anything and use Wilkpedia is a source of their information don't believe it. Also don't believe anyone in the news who talks like they know the ins and outs of wrestling because they haven't a clue and they always get their information from X wrestlers who have an ax to grind. If they haven't wrestled for the organization they are discussing in at least two years or aren't currently with the organization they are talking about they have no clue what's really going on and they aren't a good source of information.
