Olympics Have Lost that Feeling

When I was much younger the Olympics always seemed like a big deal, but not so much anymore. Is it because the sports aren't interesting? No. Is it because the US seems to be one of the major leaders as far as medals go? No. IS it because it they show little coverage or taped coverage of most events? YES. In this day in age you can no longer do the taped event you must show it live. Yes, I know they are like 8 more hours ahead of us in Torino, but you can still show things live. Who cares about NBC Daytime programing I sure don't, and obviously they Daytime EMMYS don't either really.

I don't get why they don't show any Olympic coverage during the freaking day. It would make sense and maybe their ratings would go up. It's more exciting to watch things live. Plus in this day in age people are going to find out the results before you show them because of the internet. So just show them freaking live. I know NBC has the resources to do it. They have cable networks too. To me the Olympics on NBC is a joke, because they barely show anything on their channel, it's mainly on the cable channels.

I know there are some sports that seem dumb or pointless to many Americans nd you can show those on tape, but sports people are interested in you need to show live or people aren't going to tune in because if people already knows the results it's not as exciting or interesting to watch. The Olympics are suppose to be about the thrill, excitement, and the stories that come from the atheletes. I feel those stories can't drag viewers into watching because they no longer feel the same pain or excitement when someone from the US wins or loses.

I remember when I was little the Olympics were highly anticipated and always pushed everything aside. Now they just seem to be an after thought, in the background with little or no care.
