Ok I'm back with my part 2 to my California trip. So Saturday came and we got up and got ready for our day. If I remember correctly I had the Chewy chocolate chip granola bar I had left over from the plane and my mom had some poppy seed muffins she had left that she forgot to eat at the airport.
We then headed off to Walmart to find gift bag for my graduation gift for CJ and a card. Well I found a card but not a gift bag that really fit most of them were really girly. So then I suggested we go to Hallmark store maybe they'd have better ones. Well they did but also they had a better graduation card, but it was ok I had already bought a card. Then since we were already at the Block at Orange we walked around a bit.
I remembered earlier my mom said she was going to need another bag to carry on the plan cause she was going to have to put her bag she had under the plan. So I saw luggage bags at Hilo Hattie. We looked around at the bags and my mother decided to buy two one a tote and the other a duffle bag. We then went on looking around the store and I was looking at all the palm tree stuff, because if you didn't know I'm like obsessed with palm trees. Cause if it has palm trees it must be cool. Anyhow we went to the registered and paid for the bags and the lady talked to us for a bit and gave us pooka shell necklaces, which suprised me. We then went on our way to meet CJ over in the resident parking lot.
We got there and made sure we had everything ready and I called CJ and then went out to meet him over in the apartment area. We got in the car and headed over to Claim Jumper. CJ wanted to go somewhere that we didn't have back in Missouri. The food there was really good I had a half of a chicken with fries and cheese bread. It was sort of pricey but the food was worth it. My mom had Salmon and CJ had country fried steak with mash potatoes. It was really good.
We talked about what new stuff was happening at Chapman and things they are going to be changing in the future. But one of the highlights was I finally found out what CJ stands for. Drumroll please. It stands for Christopher John. I thought it was going to stand for some strange name that he didn't like. He said that's just what they always have called him and he just stuck with that. In fact he told us his younger brother didn't even know till he was 6 years because one day he heard his mother say Christopher John and he was like who is that. I found that a bit amusing. Then I gave him my gift, it was a silver ID bracelet with CJ on the front and the date and my name on the back in script. It also came with a case where I had his full intials inscribed on it. He put it on and said he was never going to take it off. I think he said that because he was having a hard time getting it on. He seemed to really like it. So after all that thinking of gift I think it paid off. We then took a picture and left and headed back to campus.
When we got back on campus we went to CJ's apartment and looked around. It was really nice sized apartment. We also checked out his room and he had like artistic posters in his room quite a change from the first year he stayed in the dorm and had the two girls kissing poster, a beatles poster and some other rock band posters I can't remember right now off the top of my head. We then took another picture and said our goodbyes and hugs and told him we'd see him after the graduation.
We then went back to the room and watched Food Network. My mom fell asleep but I kept watching then I changed into some kahkis and a nice polo shirt. Evenutally my mom got up and we left and headed over to the Campus to get our seats for our graduations. We got in there and sat for a while in the blazing hot sun. It was good graduation some moments could have been cut down or completely cut out though. Max Weinberg was really good way better than the guy who spoke at our graduation who was a member of the faculty. We then met up with CJ afterwards. Apparently his family decided to go back to his grandparents and told him to meet them there so we took another picture hugged and said our goodbyes and said we talked through email or the phone.
Then after that we headed over to Mimis by Disneyland. They have way better service there in California than the one over by the Oak Park mall which has the most god awful service of any place I've ever been to. I had something different for once I had the Chicken I forgot the rest of the name of it but I'll remember it later for sure. It was really good it had mushrooms and I had french fries with it and it came with a salad it was really good. After we got done there we headed back to the hotel and watched some TV and I just sort of crashed.
I had to go to the bathroom at about 12 am so I got up, but I wasn't quite awake. So I sat on the toliet and did what I needed to do but then I went to go for the toliet paper roll and all of a sudden this huge cock roach the size of my middle finger came out of the paper holder and I got up and was screaming because once again I remind you I wasn't quite awake and so that really took me off guard plus I had nothing around to kill it with. It woke my mom up and she wanted to know what was going on and I told her and she went in and couldn't believe it. It first snuck between the back of the tank and the wall and we couldn't get to it then i got something and moved it out fo the way and my mom eventually killed it.. But jeez that was the most disgusting thing I'd ever seen and had ever happened to me. Eventually I got back to sleep but jeez all I kept seeing was this big cock roach with it's antennas.
Well we got up in the morning and got everything ready in all of our bags and then checked out. My mom complained about the cock roach but the guy at the desk said well the weather we are having. What an dumb thing to say he could have been a bit nicer. My mom said he wasn't the usual guy there who is Main Manager. We then left and headed to Jamba Juice.
At Jamba Juice this time I got my other favorite the Banana Berry with an energy boost. Suprisingly my mom decided to get one she got the Citrus Squeeze with an energy boost. Then we went over to the Santa Ana Mainplace Mall and walked around. After we did that we headed to the airport for our flight to Salt Lake City for our 2 hour lay over before we got on our plane to head back to Kansas City. That is all the events of my LA trip and tomorrow I'll have some exciting stories about the Reba concert and things that have been happening at home.
