So I got, well at least purchased, my No Doubt tickets for when they come to Kansas City. They aren't first row but I guess they will have to be close enough. I ended up purchasing 4. Two in the third row center. One 4th row Tony side, and 1 7th row dead center. I'll of course be taking the Tony side ticket because after all Tony is my man. I'm going to see if I can sneak up to the front and possibly get a sweatband from him, because I remember the last time I saw them he threw them out to the crowd.
This will be the first time in almost 6 years that I will see them live. Last time was when I was in Anaheim, California and I paid about 130 for two pit tickets from some hardcore ND fans, and the evil roommate never paid me for the ticket back. I so should have just took my other friend with me instead. That show was such a blast Gavin walked by where I was standing and I touched the wedding ring. Tony's family were in the section right near where I was standing on the floor. It was awesome. I also got some awesome air action going on that night. You talk about jumping, it was like a jumpfest that night. I think I got some help from the barricade but I still managed to get pretty high. Too bad that won't be the case here since I won't be in the front.
That show was also fun because not too much moshing, unlike the Long Beach show with Weezer and the Offspring. That show about killed me. 1 I got seperated from my friend CJ and we hadn't discussed that happening b4 it did. Plus I'm not known for moshing. But I had a go at it. I found that it's too exhausting to go for three straight bands. By the time No Doubt came on stage I had enough of it. Some much to the point I had gotten right up near the front and almost got taken under the pit, which was a bit frightening especially since I had my awesome camera with me.
But every No Doubt show I've been to they've done an awesome cover. But now with the fact they've recorded some covers I'm wondering how many covers they will do. First time I saw them they sang Obla Dee Obla Da, which was ok but not big on the Beetles. Then the second time I saw them I don't remember what cover they did, must not have been that great. Then when I saw them during the Rocksteady tour the three times I saw them twice with Garbage and The Distillers and the one time with New Found Glory and the Distillers they did an awesome cover of Call Me. I think they might have even done that at the LA show at the ampitheater when The Faint opened up for them in 2002.
Hopefully besides It's My Life, and the new cover song the recorded Stand and Deliver they will do another awesome cover. Hopefully it will be a song that's awesome but a bit of a suprise.
